Description
Automatic big bag filling: Flowmatic09 BOT
The Flowmatic09 BOT station is an innovative robotic solution. It maximises the efficiency of bulk product packaging. Its automated operation reduces the need for human intervention. It ensures fast and safe filling. The station features a handling robot and a weighing hopper. A motorised conveyor optimises every stage of the process. The inflation system ensures the big bag is perfectly shaped. This guarantees stable and compact packaging. A heat sealer hermetically seals the filled bag. The cuff is folded over to secure the bag for transport. An automatic handle lift facilitates handling by forklift. This solution is suitable for the food and chemical industries. It combines performance, precision and ergonomics. Your production will comply with strict industrial requirements.

Operating procedure:
The Palamatic Process automatic Big Bag filling system operates via a fully automated, multi-stage process:
1. Gripping the Big Bag
The robot picks up a Big Bag directly from a roll. This roll of Big Bags is unrolled automatically by a motorised system. Two suction cups open the sleeve to allow the robot to retrieve the Big Bag and then position it at the filling head.
2. Filling the pre-dosing hopper
In the background, the pre-dosing hopper is fed by a transfer screw.
The hopper, fitted with load cells, precisely monitors the product weight until the target weight is reached.
3. Connecting the Big Bag to the filling head
The robot inserts the Big Bag sleeve onto the filling tube.
Support arms deploy automatically to stabilise the bag on all four sides and ensure the Big Bag remains in position during filling.
A fan system shapes the Big Bag prior to filling.
4. Emptying the hopper into the Big Bag
Once the Big Bag is in place, the pre-dosing hopper empties completely, allowing for rapid and precise filling.
5. Sealing and closing the sleeve
A heat sealer hermetically seals the Big Bag sleeve, ensuring optimal protection of the product against moisture and contamination.
6. Folding (boxing) of the cuff
After sealing, the cuff is carefully folded inside the Big Bag to prevent any hindrance during transport and handling.
7. Automatic lifting of the handle
A cylinder-operated finger lifts the Big Bag’s large handle, making it easier for a forklift truck to pick up the bag.
8. Removal of the Big Bag
The Big Bag is then transferred onto a motorised conveyor which transports it to the final conveyor line.
9. Handling by an operator
At the end of the line, the Big Bag is ready to be removed by an operator using a forklift truck, which can slide its forks directly into the raised handle.
Thanks to this optimised process, the filling station ensures high throughput and reliability, meeting the requirements of industries handling bulk powders and granules.
Equipment advantages
- Full automation: Reduced manual intervention thanks to a 6-axis robot and intuitive monitoring.
- Dosing accuracy: The weighed pre-dosing hopper ensures optimal filling without any over-dosing.
- Quality and safety: The hermetic seal and stabilisation ensure perfectly secure packaging.
- Ergonomics and productivity: Automatic lifting enables a high throughput of up to 45 Big Bags per hour.
