Description
Enclosed big bag discharge station: Safety and total containment
The enclosed big bag emptying station from Palamatic Process is designed for the safe unpacking of hazardous, toxic, CMR or highly powdery products. Thanks to its advanced containment system, it drastically reduces dust emissions whilst ensuring optimal ergonomics for the operator.
This unit incorporates a sealed connection head, housed within a suction chamber fitted with extraction hoods on three sides.
The operator accesses the enclosure via a glazed door, which automatically activates the dust extraction system to ensure a safe working environment during the critical stages of emptying and disconnection.
A set of automatic valves enables intelligent management of suction flow rates between the enclosure and the connection head, thereby optimising dust containment. Several options are available to further enhance safety:
- Vacuum extraction from the big bag prior to disconnection.
- Suction of fine particles from the discharge sleeve before it is hermetically sealed.
Loading methods: The structures are adapted to your requirements, incorporating the standards of the Easyflow range: electric hoist, forklift or overhead crane.

Procedure: Contained big-bag emptying
1. Positioning the big-bag
The operator loads the big bag onto the station using an electric hoist, a forklift or an overhead crane, depending on the layout. The handles are secured to the lifting cross, ensuring safe and stable handling.
2. Connection and containment
- The operator opens the glazed door of the enclosure, triggering the automatic extraction system to capture any dust emissions.
- The big bag is lowered onto the loading tray and its sleeve is inserted into the sealed connection head. The clamping tray is then in the raised position.
- The operator secures the sleeve by lowering the clamping plate, ensuring total containment. Once clamping is complete, only the suction at the connection head is maintained.
3. Untying and emptying
The discharge sleeve is secured and gradually untied to allow for controlled flow of the product. If necessary, vibration cylinders facilitate the flow of compacted powders.
4. Removal of the empty big bag
- Once emptying is complete, the operator seals the spout tightly. It remains clamped to the head to ensure containment.
- Vacuum extraction option: A vacuum extraction of the big bag can be activated before the seal is closed to prevent any residual emissions.
- Cleaning option: Once the clamping plate has been raised, a suction hose is used to clean the sleeve before it is permanently sealed in a "swan neck" configuration.
- The emptied big bag is removed and can be processed via a Roll’R or screw compactor (optional).
- An isolating guillotine valve (optional) allows the process to be isolated from the external environment at the end of the production run.
Equipment advantages
- High-precision containment: Complete sealing thanks to the connection head and the extraction chamber. For the most demanding processes, opt for full enclosure and the Bag-In / Bag-Out system, which guarantees ‘zero-contact’ maintenance.
- Maximum operator safety: Access is protected by a glass door linked to the automatic dust extraction system. Each stage (loading, unloading, disconnection) is designed to eliminate exposure to CMR or toxic powders.
- Full adaptability to your workshop: Whether you load using a hoist or a forklift, our structures adapt (self-supporting or adjustable models). The 5-point handling cross ensures perfect stability, even with an internal bag.
- Scalability of the range: Our models are designed to grow with your needs. The basic structure can be extended to incorporate waste management systems (Compactor with screw or Roll’R) or handling gloves (EF4 model).

BIG BAG OPENING
Optimal containment
- Sealed connection head with clamping plate.
- Suction chamber fitted with hoods on three sides.
- Automated dust removal management on the de-linting system.
- Option: Full enclosure of the upper section (loading area above the discharge tray). Swing doors operated by pneumatic cylinders ensure safe loading/unloading.
- Option: On-board dust removal unit dedicated to the station, enabling closed-loop operation with reintroduction of extracted fines into the station.
- Option: Absolute filtration on the dust collector and a Bag-In/Bag-Out system for filter maintenance without contact with contaminated materials.
