Industrial grinding mill - Bulk material and powder handling

Processed bulk material: calcium formate

Industrial powder grinding

Technical data:
- Capacity 500 kg/h.
- Stainless steel manufacturing
- Outlet particule size D100 <150µm

For this customer, the plasterboard manufacturing process involves the integration of 2 raw materials that do not come from the same supplier. The subcontractors being different, the production qualities of these 2 bulk materials are different.
The lack of heterogeneity between these 2 raw materials is a problem for our plasterboard manufacturer customer: the variation in the granulometry of the formulated material is too important. The objective of the pin grinding plant is to make the granulation of the 2 raw materials homogeneous and reliable before their integration into the production process.

The objective of the grinding plant is to produce a material with a grain size of less than 150 µm at a production rate of 500 kg/h.

During the study of the project, several grinding tests were carried out in our test station by our specialized powder engineer. The samples produced during the tests were verified using a laser granulometer.
These tests made it possible to validate the principle of high-speed industrial pin mill and to define the overall design of the installation in order to achieve the required granulometry.
Indeed, the speed of rotation is one of the major factors in ensuring output grain size.
