Example of a typical process line for the production of detergent and washing powder: 
The majority of the bulk ingredients in the recipe are delivered via tanker trucks for subsequent storage in silos. The material is transferred via pneumatic conveying systems. Some raw materials can also be delivered in big bags. Depending on the formulation chosen, so-called "secondary or minor" ingredients can be introduced into the manufacturing process during the mixing phases. Once the recipe is mixed, the powder is stored in "buffer" hoppers before being transferred to the packaging area.
