    SKID FOR GRINDING AND INJECTING SODIUM BICARBONATE

    With our sodium bicarbonate grinding solution, you can now grind and inject your bicarbonate into your industrial fumes in a single operation. The Palamatic UM160 to UM500 industrial grinders are perfectly suited to grinding sodium bicarbonate. We have containerised this solution to make it easier to transport and ensure quick installation.

    Sodium bicarbonate is considered by many to be a miracle product. It also lives up to its promise in fume treatment. Sodium bicarbonate is effective for treating:

    • heavy metals (such as mercury (Hg), cadmium (Cd), thallium (Tl), lead (Pb), zinc (Zn) and arsenic (As))
    • micropollutants (such as dioxins and furans)
    • nitrogen oxides (when used in addition to a conventional urea system)
    • dust and aerosols
    • hydrofluoric acid (HF) and hydrochloric acid (HCl)
    • sulphur trioxide and sulphur dioxide (SO3, SO2)

    How PalGreen works

    Dosing

    A dosing station injects the bicarbonate into the grinder with great precision. This UM315 pin grinder (impact grinder) plays an important role, as particle size has a direct impact on purification efficiency. The exchange surface area of the reagent (sodium bicarbonate) must be as large as possible.

    Grinding

    The grinding process prevents any problems with sodium bicarbonate caking. The installation incorporates a volumetric or weight-based dosing system. The D12 dosing unit is fed from a big bag of bicarbonate or a storage silo, depending on consumption.

    Transfer

    At the outlet of the grinder, a pressurised piping circuit transfers the ground bicarbonate directly into the flue gas duct. An injection pipe installed in the chimney ensures final distribution.

    Storage

    The Palamatic Process containerised solution includes: the packaging station, the screw feeder, the pin grinder with its integrated safety system, the injection fan, measuring instruments for autonomous production monitoring, and the integrated control cabinet.

    Technical specification

    Palamatic has developed these autonomous skids to enable any user to produce their own baking soda simply and automatically. To adapt as closely as possible to the constraints of each industrial site, this turnkey solution is available in three models, the choice of which is based primarily on the theoretical flow rate (from 250 to 2,000 kg/h) dictated by the capacity of the on-board grinder. While the chemical concentration remains standardised to ensure optimal flue gas purification, the ergonomics and level of autonomy vary according to the volumes to be treated. Thus, the feed mode and the skid architecture are adjusted proportionally: from bag handling in a simple 20-foot container, the installation can incorporate pre-assembled big bag stations or complete silos combined with larger dosing units for mass production.
